Bio: Michael Watts
An aficionado of the modern luthier-built guitar Michael Watts is renowned for his exquisite touch and the depth of colour and expression in his playing.
A former winner of the Acoustic Guitarist of the Year award Michael studied with some of the greatest fingerstyle players in the world including John Renbourn, Pierre Bensusan, Isaac Guillory, Ed Gerhard and others.
As a solo instrumentalist he has performed on the same bill as Tony McManus, Clive Carroll, Charlie Hunter, Jon Gomm, Amrit Sond and many other luminaries of the acoustic guitar world.
As guitarist for Beverley Martyn he has shared a bill with members of Pentangle, Robert Plant, Donovan, Ralph McTell and others.
Michael regularly performs at guitar festivals around the world.
